Drive to Saigon. On a walking tour of the city we’ll visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Post office and the sombering War Remnants Museum. Evening at leisure. Overnight - Saigon (B)
Saigon is a sprawling city and our bus just barely squeezes through the traffic at times. We go to the Notre Dame Cathedral and post office designed by Eiffel; yes one in the same. It is always odd to walk through places, especially houses of worship; snapping pictures; even more so when services are going on. This as with all classic Cathedrals I have seen around the world was massive. It was fairly standard, except for the TV monitors in lieu of hymnals. There was even a monitor translated into English. I sat quietly in reflection for a bit; trying to take in all that I have seen, experienced, and enjoyed. I took a few pictures and moved on.
